The back squat is a weightlifting exercise used to develop strength in the posterior chain. The exercise involves the Gluts, Hamstrings, Lower back and Quadriceps. Requires strength, power, endurance, coordination and balance. A cardiovascular effect and muscle endurance can be achieved by using less weight and high reps.
